My earliest memories of Howard Morris were his performances with Sid Ceaser & Carl Reiner on "Your Show of Shows" especially when those three were a 50s doo-wop boy-band called the Haircuts, parody of a real 50s vocal group called the Crewcuts, famous for the song Sh'boom! BUT it's Ernest T. Bass that'll always be remembered as his best character. & then there were his memorable performances in such Mel Brooks classics as LIFE STINKS (Sailor) and HISTORY OF THE WORLD, PART I (The little gay guy in the Roman Emperor's palace).
