After reading the interview on this website, I am much more appreciative of an actor's talent. If not for Howard Morris' "insight", Ernest T. probably would not have been the popular character he is today. In fact, the writing for Ernest T. was great but it's the acting, voice, intonation, nasal twang, accent, etc. that made him Ernest T.
In fact, I don't really like to talk about acting and the actors because, deep down inside, I like to think that Floyd, Andy, Barney, the Darlings, Ernest T. and the rest are all real people and they exist out there in NC "somewhere's else" and they never get older and they never change.
